April 24, 2017 President’s Spring update
Greetings fellow members,
Welcome to the 2017 golf season at Northfield Country Club!
I am happy to announce that our management staff consisting of PGA Pro
Ryan McDonald, Course Superintendent Mitchell Evans, and Food and Beverage
manager Hillary Amell are all returning for the 2017 season.
The course conditions at our club are the best we’ve seen in many, many years!!
Mitchell Evans, Justin Potter, and Bob Green have done a phenomenal job preparing our course for play in a very short time period. We are extremely lucky to have such a talented and hard working course maintenance staff. Please take time this year to thank them for all of the great work they do for our club.
Ryan McDonald and Jeremy Quelch have been quickly setting up the pro shop with all of the golfing supplies you may need. Ryan also can place special orders for merchandise, including golf clubs. Please help support your club by choosing to purchase your new clubs at NCC instead of at one of the big retail stores. Ryan will give you a very competitive price on any special order purchase.
As always, Ryan is available to schedule a golf lesson to help improve your game.
Our pro shop staff is ready to make you golfing experience at Northfield at great one!!
Hillary Amell, and her staff have put together a great menu for lunch or dinner this year. It will provide our members and guests a variety of choices to fit any budget.
We also have a great supply of beer, wine, and spirits for your enjoyment.
Our Food and Beverage staff is also ready to serve your special event this season.
You can greatly support your club by having your special event here at NCC. Or put the word out to friends and co-workers about considering Northfield for their special event.
Please contact Hillary for scheduling and availability of dates.
Tim McTigue recently decided to resign from his position on the NCC board. I want to thank him for his service to our club both on the board and for many years of volunteer work.
I have appointed Joe Morvan to fill the vacant NCC board position. Joe will also serve as chair of the Pro Shop Committee.
Last year was a terrible year financially for our club. Income from memberships, green fees, and the food and beverage service were all down substantially.
It’s very expensive to operate our club and provide great course conditions with a quality staff of employees that members desire.
The board of directors has continued to keep our memberships dues as low as possible.
But a critical time has come for our membership to step up and give more support to the great club we all enjoy. Support you club beyond the purchase of your membership.
I challenge each member of our club to spend at least Seventy-Five dollars this season at either our Food & Beverage Service or in the Pro Shop. If you cannot afford that amount, spend whatever amount you can afford.
Tell your friends about our club, invite them to join or come play green fees.
Participate in some of the many fun events or tournaments we will have this season.
Your club will not be able to continue long term operation without a strong increase in patronage from our members and guests.
Randy Miller, President NCC
