Summer is here and NCC is hopping! By now many of you have met our new pro, Dave Soucy. Dave comes to us after a successful stint at Green Mountain National Golf Course and brings with him an extensive knowledge of golf operations. Dave is also a State Senator representing Rutland County in the Legislature. Due to his commitments with the Legislature, Dave has not been able to fully come on board yet but he has met with our current staff, worked in the pro shop as his Legislative schedule has allowed and is gearing up for a busy summer ahead.
In the meantime, we would be remiss if we didn’t recognize the fantastic job done by Billy Whaley and Jake Preston in running the Pro Shop in Dave’s absence. They each have worked extremely hard to ensure that all of our members and guests have as good a golf experience as possible.
In the kitchen, Hillary Amell and her stave have continued to provide excellent food and beverage choices and great values for members and guests. She and her staff have full summer of events and tournaments ahead and look forward to seeing you.
On the course Superintendent Mitch Evans and his staff have worked their magic once again, providing us with absolutely sterling conditions. If you see Mitch, Justin or any of the guys while playing pleas be sure to shake their hand and show your appreciation.
Also, if you think your putts are rolling even smoother than usual, its not your imagination. Due to the generosity of a member who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, Mitch has a new (to us) greens roller. By rolling the greens, Mitch will be able to reduce the number of times the greens are mowed each week which is beneficial to the health of the greens. Rolling greens also takes less time than mowing because of the size of the machine. In addition to these benefits, our greens will be smoother and roll truer.
